UPDATE #1: I was able to meet with Nathan Fillion at Dragon*Con 2008 this year. I gave him a shiny print of this piece and he loved it! He laughed out loud and even pointed to the doctor in panel two, remarking on how funny the expression was. I am still all giddy about that

Captain Hammer is played by the same actor, Nathan Fillion, and is from the other Joss Wedon creation, Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. Hilarious and worth a watch!
