A Snow White and Briar Rose (Sleeping Beauty) inspired piece with a distinctly shoujo manga-style twist. In this illustration, it is the female who plays the role of savior as the knight in shining armor and the male who is in need of rescuing in the part of damsel in distress. The characters featured in this piece are Miharu and Kazuo from my web comic, Red String. I placed them in this fairytale setting even though the comic is not a fairytale piece. There's a lot of symbolism in this illustration in relation to the comic itself.

I have been coloring this piece off and on since November. Upon completion the finished image was done at 600 dpi and was 185.6 megs in size O_o; It took me a very long time to get all the little details in this completed. The glass coffin tiles alone took me an entire day to finish. I tried to keep this image as big as possible without being too large, but you still lose a lot of the little details that went into it at 100 dpi. All in all, this is the most detailed piece I have ever worked on. ^^
