"Awaken from the Fairy Tale" (redux)
The original version of this illustration appeared in October 2004. Four years later I am revisiting it as an evolution of an artist, so to speak. Like last time, I inked the illustration by hand and colored it on Photoshop. There are some details that are lost when I shrink it down (like the shading on the tiles on the glass bed) but that can't be helped sometimes.
"Awaken from the Fairytale is inspired by the Brothers Grimm tales, Snow White and Brier Rose. With the gender reversal, it is the female who plays the role of the savior as the knight in shining armor and the male who is in need of rescuing in the part of the damsel in distress."
